چکیده
The Fragnè mine, located in the Lanzo valley municipality of Chialamberto (Turin, Piedmont Region), represented most important regional site for Fe–Cu sulfide exploitation over a period more than eighty years (1884–1965). entire mining area is part structural complex Lower Unit Western Alps, characterized by presence amphibolite, metabasite (“prasinite”), and metagabbroic rocks. In particular, pyrite ore deposit occurs as massive mineralizations within interlayered metabasites amphibolites. this work, we describe secondary minerals morphologies minothems from mine that are found only abandoned underground works, such soda straws, normal jelly stalactites stalagmites, jellystones, columns, crusts, blisters, war-clubs, hair, different mineralogical associations. All were formed during acid drainage (AMD) processes. Blisters composed schwertmannite, war-clubs goethite with low crystallinity hair epsomite hexahydrite minerals. Jelly stalagmites schwertmannite often association bacteria, while solid jarosite goethite. results indicate transformation to observed some probably due aging processes or local pH variations bacterial activity. On basis these results, hypothesize all samples, strong activity, slowly transformed into goethite, thus precursors stalactites.

Social class and cancer survival in Turin, Italy.
STUDY OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate social differences in cancer survival in residents of Turin, Italy. DESIGN Incident cases from the Piedmont cancer registry were linked to municipality files and 1981 census data, and followed up from 1985-92. The census provided data on education and housing tenure, which were used as indicators of social class. The case fatality ratio (CFR) wa...
متن کاملDecreasing educational differences in mortality over 40 years: evidence from the Turin Longitudinal Study (Italy).
BACKGROUND Recent studies suggest that inequalities in premature mortality have continued to rise over the last decade in most European countries, but not in southern European countries. METHODS In this study, we assess long-term trends (1971-2011) in absolute and relative educational inequalities in all-cause and cause-specific mortality in the Turin Longitudinal Study (Turin, Italy), a reco...
متن کاملUsing secondary minerals in Sahneh ophiolitic complex, west Iran
Kermanshah ophiolite is an extremely crushed ophiolitic complex in which a complete ophiolitic sequence is not observed. Gabbros, deloritc dikes and mostly serpentinized peridotites are among the most important constituents of these ophiolitic set. Pridotites existing in the study area are of metamorphosized types that have been severely affected by the hydrothermal solutions due to their extre...
متن کاملPrognostic factors and survival of laryngeal cancer patients from Turin, Italy. A population-based study.
Little information is available on the role of risk factors for cancer of the larynx in survival. This study analyzed survival through the end of 1994 for 355 cases of laryngeal cancer diagnosed among residents of Turin, Italy, during 1979-1982. Relative survival at 5 years was 75% in women and 67% in men. The role of clinical and etiologic factors was analyzed in detail among 222 male cases. T...
